The 2000 Bedell Merlot boast excellent varietal character, considerable richness and suggestions of black cherry and plum. Winemaker Kip Bedell's latest merlot fits neatly into the repertoire, showing typically fine structure and very long finish.

Peconic Bay Winery in Cutchogue, a small country-feeling tasting room in a converted barn, is laden with wine accessories like bottle toppers, wooden bowls and grape linens. White wine like chardonnay and Riesling (especially the 20003) are particular favorites here.
