Vanessa Hamer, a long time Hampton’s resident, received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications with a concentration in Radio, Television and Film from Marist College in 2001. As intern for the CBS Primetime Casting Department, she honed her skills in writing, editing and human relations. With a desire to learn the Fashion industry, Vanessa took on a position as a Public Relations Intern for renowned designer Cynthia Rowley in Manhattan in 2003. She soon advanced to become a Public Relations Assistant, in which she became fully educated on all facets of PR including client and media relations, event planning, campaign management, feature and product placement pitching, and general maintenance of press clippings, showroom and samples. In 2004, she moved on to become the Director of Media Relations for Spread PR, a boutique firm specializing in Fashion, Accessories and Lifestyle Public Relations. In her four years at Spread PR she managed several large and smaller scale accounts and developed a wide network of client and media relationships. Some of her most recognized efforts include placements in major publications such as InStyle, Marie Claire, Allure, Lucky, Glamour and Women’s Wear Daily and the planning and managing of fashion shows at New York Fashion Week. Vanessa recently returned to her hometown of East Hampton and assumes not one but two new roles as Account Executive at WordHampton PR and mother.
