Tierra Mar in Westhampton is owned by Todd Jacobs, who also doubles as the executive chef. Jacob's menu boasts inventive American creations from the land and the sea. Some sample appetizers include Smoked Honey Cured Long Island Duck Breast with honey dijon drizzle ($9.95) or Barbecued Jumbo Shrimp and Avocado Salad ($14.50). Main plates for fish fans include: Crisp Pan Seared Whole Boneless Local Flounder with fried capers, diced tomatoes and fines herbs ($24.50) and Tierra Mar Bouillabaisse, a medley of tasty shellfish ($28). Other creative entrees to choose from include tender Seared Ostrich Filet with organic carrot broth ($38) and flavorful Barbecued Top Sirloin of Australian Free-Range Lamb ($24.50). Tierra Mar's award winning wine list includes an extensive selection of wines from regions throughout the world. The press is quite impressed with Tierra Mar. Sheldon Landwehr of the New York Post noted that "critics are crowing about Tierra Mar." In 1997, Tierra Mar was included amongThe New York Times' "Ten Standout Restaurants in the Hamptons" list compiled by reviewer Joanne Starkey. In 1995, Smart Money Magazine named Jacobs as "the best chef in the Hamptons." |
