"Pacific East is truly stellar," according to Mary Alice Kellogg of Bon Appétit magazine. Stylish and splashy, dramatic and delicious, Pacific East has been turning heads in the Hamptons since 1997. Owned and operated by Michael Castino, Pacific East’s exotic Pan-Asian and French-inspired menu never fails to impress. "Most of the menu offerings are creative renditions of familiar dishes, made exotic by Asian condiments," describes Joanne Starkey of The New York Times. Examples of Castino’s culinary flair include appetizers such as Kim-Chi Barbequed Baby Back Ribs with Indonesian sweet soy Pacific spice and Sierra Nevada; Lobster and Shiitake Peking Pancake with champagne kim-chi cream. Outstanding entrees include Shanghai roasted Chilean sea bass over warm tomatoes vinaigrette; Indonesian Grilled Natural Angus Filet Mignon with tamarind barbeque sauce and roast beet mash – all perfectly complemented by a large selection of exceptional wines. Pacific East also boasts a sushi bar with a wide selection of sushi and sashimi. Pacific East is noted for its stylish decor as well. The dramatic two-story dining room is accented by long white billowing curtains, huge potted palms and an attractive wooden sushi bar at one end of the room. A subtle Asian color scheme with warm gold tones unifies the grand space. Open year round, Pacific East features a terrific prix-fixe deal ($21.95 for three courses) that’s been called "the most outstanding value and one of the very best meals," by New York Times' scribe Richard Scholem. Pacific East is also an excellent spot for people watching. The likes of Martha Stewart, Matt Lauer, Billy Joel, Michael Douglas, Candice Bergen and Howard Stern have frequented the popular restaurant. Whether it’s a thriving summer Saturday night or a quiet Thursday in November, diners are guaranteed a magnificent dining experience. |
