Dennis and Diane Harkoff's dream of owning a restaurant became a reality in 1992 with the opening of Legends Restaurant in New Suffolk, a quaint seaside town on Long Island’s North Fork. With the idea of incorporating different cultural experiences from their travels abroad, the couple offers diners a journey touching many destinations as well as a study in contrasts whether it is the food, décor or setting. The dining room, tastefully decorated with African artifacts, Native American accents, and tropical overtones, provides an escape from everyday life. The distinctive bar is a haven for sports lovers offering over 200 beers from 32 countries.

Diners may expect the unexpected with executive chef Michael Reilly at the helm. He creates tantalizing, exotic, and recognizable food for both the adventurous and not-so-daring patrons to enjoy. Appetizers feature tuna Napoleon with avocado and onion burst with honey-mustard sauce. Entrees include southwestern style salmon; tagliata di manzo - platinum Angus ribeye steak; chicken val d’aosta gratinee; and penne con gamberi. Lunch entrée offerings feature stone baked pizzas; seafood pot pie in a lobster sauce; and pad Thai with vegetables and shrimp. Popular desserts include NY style cheesecake in spring rolls with caramel and chocolate sauce; tempura banana split in an edible chocolate bowl; and walnut roll. International tapas menu offerings include chorizo sausage; sundried tomato and crabmeat crusted barramundi; and flat iron steak tagliata di manzo.
