It began in 1991, when restaurateur Kenney Desmond Barra sought to accommodate customer demand for a space to hold large receptions. Barra purchased and transformed a Knights of Columbus Hall in Wading River. Today, East Wind is the realization of a vision to combine luxurious elegance with a myriad of services and amenities. *The Inn & Spa at East Wind - Fifty spacious and richly appointed guestrooms with classic decor, rich fabrics and antique furnishings awarded the AAA Diamond Rating in 2006.

*The Spa at East Wind - Long Island’s newest day and destination spa with full-service salon is located in a 10,000 square foot facility providing lavish surroundings, luxury treatments and salon services designed to relax, rejuvenate and beautify.

*East Wind Caterers - Three stand-alone facilities – The Grand Ballroom at the Inn, the nearby Estate and the founding venue, Country Gardens – accommodate receptions for 50 to 1200 guests.
