Dan Rizzie

Dan Rizzie

Using a variety of surfaces from mahogany panel to paper and a range of mediums, Dan Rizzie's work is often described as abstract although he feels it cannot be easily defined as each piece comes from a visual or felt experience he has encountered. The roster of solo exhibits include Allene Lapides Gallery in Sante Fe, NM and Gerald Peters Gallery in New York and Dallas. Rizzie continues to be featured in many notorious group shows with London appearances in Wilson Stephens Fine Art and Royal Academy of Art where he joined other internationally acclaimed artists in the Summer Exhibition. U.S. presentations include Corcoran Museum of Art in Washington D.C. and Janus Gallery in Los Angeles. Rizzie's art has become a recurring display in prestigious galleries including Spanierman Gallery in East Hampton and The Parrish Art Museum in Southampton. His works also hang in many prominent private and museum collections including Metropolitan Museum of Art and New York Public Library in New York City. Through involvement with Arts in Embassies Program, Rizzie's work is currently on display at the U.S. Embassy in Saudia Arabia and will be featured at the U.S. Ambassador's residence in South Africa later this year. Another notable endeavor is Rizzie's one-man show at Hampton Road Gallery in Southampton. Throughout his career, Rizzie has undergone changes and has been consistent at the same time in an effort to make himself a recognizable talent. He hopes audiences from 20 years ago and today will look at his art and say "Now that's a Rizzie."
