Chris Miller, a leading wine educator, consultant and writer based on Long Island, established his vinous reputation shaping some of New York’s finest wine lists from the 21 Club to The American Hotel. Qualified as an Advanced Sommelier by the Court of Master Sommeliers, Miller advises wine merchants, restaurants and private individuals. His views are also shared through regular wine columns in Long Island Pulse and Dan’s Papers. Miller’s goal is to help the new and established oenephile – from the novice and serious wine collector to wine professional – on the important aspects of wine. With the wine world evolving rapidly, he believes it is paramount, certainly for wine professionals, to be informed about the history of wine but also its future – the laws, trends and cultural changes in each wine region. In 2007, Miller founded his own wine education organization, The Sommelier Wine Academy, offering professional level courses on Long Island - beginning at the new Culinary Arts & Hospitality Center of Suffolk County Community College – and in Westchester.
