A new authentic Mexican restaurant has opened at the location of the former 27 - Lobster and Surf Shack called 27 Authentic Mexican Kitchen. 27 Authentic Mexican Kitchen is the brainchild of "Bar Czar" Alex Gordon known for his Manhattan hotspots such as Bamboo Bernie’s, Bourbon St., Zoo Bar, Big Al’s and A.J. Gordon’s Brewing Co. The new restaurant promises a laid back, fun, high-energy retreat to enjoy traditional Mexican fare and creative tequila cocktails.

The property features a large indoor space seating 100 with a working fireplace for cold rainy days and a large bar with three 50 inch color plasma TV’s streaming surfing movies and old Elvis beach movies. The outdoor space seats 100+, offering casual seating with an ocean breeze and a great sunset view. The menu embraces all the flavors, passions and festivity of the Mexican experience with items including, a signature lobster salpicon guacamole; Tequila battered mahi mahi taco served in a hand made tortilla; shrimp ceviche; and a seafood paella.

Aside from the delectable menu, at 27 Authentic Mexican Kitchen you will also find an extensive list of tequilas and the crazy concoctions at the bar. Some favorites include the blueberry pomegranate margarita with hacienda del cristero, blueberry pomegrante juice and fresh-hand squeezed lime juice; and Dantes Inferno, the infamous flaming 32oz. bowl served with five types of rum and marshmallows to roast over the flame. And for tequila connoisseurs, taste a fight of tequilas from reprosado to anejo, if you dare.
